Being formally invested into the world wide scout organisation is a real honour and a challenge I look forward to embracing
Andrew Hampton – New Cub Scout Leader
It was a real privilege to welcome our new Cubs and formally invest them into the worldwide Scout organisation. Our 8 new Cubs have more than doubled our pack size and increased numbers allows our leaders to plan a more ambitious activity programme for the forthcoming summer term. It was a special night for the whole pack, our new Cubs all looked very smart in their full uniform and the hut was packed to the rafters as many of their parents came to see them get formally invested.
The cubs were brought forward by their current pack sixers and each had to listen to the Cub Scout promise and pronounce their Cub Scout law in front of the audience. Once done the cubs were then presented with their new troop Neckers and woogles.
The night was also a special one to for our 2 new leaders. Andrew & Allistair formally invested into the Scouting movement too, also being invited to pronounce the Scout promise in front of the packed hall. The new leaders can now officially start their training programme (expected to last around 4-6 months) before taking over the running of the pack on a full time basis.
The Cub Scout Law
Cub Scouts always do their best
Think of others before themselves
And do a good turn every day.
The Cub Scout Promise
I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to the Queen
To help other people
And to keep the Cub Scout Law.
